Chevrolet Supports Next Generation of All-Stars

Andrew McCutchen, MLB All-Star and outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, joins Chevrolet as an ambassador for Chevy Youth Baseball, a grassroots, community outreach program providing access to equipment and sponsorship checks from Chevrolet, as well as unique Major and Minor League Baseball experiences such as exclusive instructional clinics. In the last 11 years, Chevy Youth Baseball has donated more than 135,000 equipment kits, renovated 9,400 parks and impacted more than 6.7 million boys and girls across the U.S.

Brand taps Andrew McCutchen and Alex Morgan as youth sports ambassadors

DETROIT — Chevrolet has enlisted the help of two world-class athletes to support the brand’s youth sports programs around the country. Andrew McCutchen, MLB All-Star and outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, will work with the brand on its Youth Baseball initiatives and Alex Morgan, gold medalist and soccer champion, will help the brand grow its youth soccer programs.

“At Chevrolet, we celebrate the power of play and the positive effect it has on kids, families and communities,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “Partnering with Andrew McCutchen and Alex Morgan allows us to share their expertise and passion for their individual sports and demonstrate to children everywhere that with perseverance and dedication anything is possible.”

Chevy Youth Baseball
Since 2006, Chevrolet, in partnership with its dealers, has been supporting baseball and softball at the youth level in communities across the country through Chevy Youth Baseball, a grassroots, community outreach program.

Participating youth baseball and softball leagues receive equipment and sponsorship checks from Chevrolet, as well as unique Major and Minor League Baseball experiences such as exclusive instructional clinics. In the last 11 years, Chevy Youth Baseball has donated more than 135,000 equipment kits, renovated 9,400 parks and impacted more than 6.7 million boys and girls across the U.S.

“I have so many great memories playing little league ball – from hitting my first homerun to just being together with my friends – experiences that taught me to love the game,” said McCutchen, the 2013 National League MVP. “I am thankful that I was able to achieve my dream and am excited to support Chevy Youth Baseball so that more of the dedicated and talented youth around the country have the same support and opportunity to make it to the big leagues.”

Chevrolet will once again sponsor Major League Baseball’s PLAY BALL initiative, a collaborative effort between MLB, USA Baseball and USA Softball to encourage participation in all forms of baseball and softball.

Chevy Youth Soccer
Since 2010, Chevrolet, in partnership with its dealers, has also been supporting soccer at the youth level in communities across the country through Chevy Youth Soccer, a grassroots, community outreach program.

Participating youth soccer leagues receive equipment and access to instructional clinics. In the last six years, Chevy Youth Soccer has donated more than 6,200 equipment kits, provided free instruction on soccer fundamentals to more than 600,000 students and impacted more than 5 million kids across the U.S.

“Youth sports were a huge part of my life and really helped shape who I am today,” Morgan said. “I know how much work goes into chasing your dream and I was so lucky to have the support of my family and community. That is why I am thrilled to be able to support so many young people through Chevy Youth Soccer as they chase their dreams on the field.”

McLaren-Honda unveils the New MCL32

Woking, United Kingdom, February 24, 2017 – McLaren-Honda unveiled its new machine, the McLaren-Honda MCL32, prior to its winter testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, for the upcoming 2017 FIA* Formula One (F1™) World Championship. The Honda RA617H, 1.6-litre V6 turbo engine with ERS, has been decreased the weight and lowered the centre of gravity to improve the balance of the car, while generating more output out of the ICE [internal combustion engine]. And the power unit will be fitted into the MCL32 for the 2017 season.

The MCL32 follows in the evolutionary footsteps of its two immediate predecessors, MP4-30 and MP4-31, but has been overhauled in every area as the design team has looked to capitalise on a series of new aerodynamic regulations introduced for 2017.

New Look for NHRA Pro Stock Camaro SS

Gen Six bodywork takes to the drag strip in 2017, chasing repeat Pro Stock title

INDIANAPOLIS – The Gen Six Chevrolet Pro Stock Camaro SS makes its public debut at the Performance Racing Industry trade show in Indianapolis on Thursday, Dec. 8.

The new model builds on the success of the championship-winning fifth-generation-based race car. It’s more athletic-looking and aerodynamically optimized bodywork draws its styling from the Gen Six Chevrolet Camaro SS.

“Our goal was to minimize aerodynamic drag within the NHRA guidelines and incorporate as many design cues from the production car,” said John Mack, Chevrolet Camaro exterior design manager. “The result is a sleeker and more aerodynamic Camaro SS.”

The new race car makes its competition debut this February in Pomona, Calif., at the kickoff event for the 2017 NHRA Mello Yellow Drag Racing Series.

Chevrolet Pro Stock Camaro drivers won 23 of 24 events in the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Jason Line won eight events, capturing his third world title — and the third straight championship for Chevrolet. Runner-up Greg Anderson won eight events in a Camaro SS race car.

Track testing with the 2017 Pro Stock Camaro SS begins later this month.

In addition to the new Pro Stock Camaro SS, Chevrolet’s 2017 COPO program offers specialty race cars designed for NHRA’s Stock Eliminator classes, and earlier this fall Chevrolet announced a drag racing development program for production-based Camaro models.
